great tips! I may have to find some of those creeks around my area. Bad thing is almost all the land here is posted! That reallly stinks, but will definitely try.

sandskimmer I think theres gold all over NC..Being the fact this is the first state it was disvovered in..Its been hunted hard..But I am not giving up..I have a few good prospect creeks in mind..I would say do a search for the NC mountain gold prospecting..Im sure pappy will chime in soon..

great advice for all! Sandskimmer like liquid said, gold was first discovered in NC and my msJoker is from there and she talks about it all the time.. so yes, by all means go find some gold! Also, hows the hunting around wilmington? I bet theres some great finds there. Will be down there this summer and id love to hook up on some nice sites.. good luck!

YES there is Gold in them thar hills! Anytime you want to come up after the water warms I'll be glad to take any of you panning,dredging or whatever. I too believe that there is a goodly amount of gold left in N.C.
I love panning in the New River and one of the best places is a the river forks. Our creeks give up some now and then too.

P.S. I have found some.
