Hey everyone I just wanted to say thanks for the info on GE & Live Search. Funny how you stumble upon things, I was reading the info you provided on map searching with those two sites & it occured to me maybe I could find the location of an old mining town from 1840 that I hadn't been able to locate, & in a matter of just a min or so Bam I found the location which is about 30 mins from where I grew up as a kid in a small town in SW WI. Now I can hardly wait to take my new F75 out & see if anyone has been there yet. Wish Me Luck & thanks again for the free advice everyone!!! I guess it pays to surf these forums when your looking for info!!!

Good Luck!

One added feature is the overlay feature of GE, which you can put old maps over new, and use pins to mark the historic structures. Then you remove the historic map leaving the pushpins. The example is an 1858 map which led me to the homestead and a half cent, along with some silver finds.
