Awesome idea...my only problemo is I grew up on the north side of Chicago and know where the drive is was...but I live 900 miles south of there in Florida...so the hunt will have to start at the local library...thanks

Try : Drive-ins.com - Welcome to Drive-ins.com

You can search by zip code. They are a great resource for drive-ins, opened and closed. I was surprised at how many were still open. I found one 1 1/2 hours from me that had double-features for $7 and kids were cheaper. I've gone a couple times. Great family night out for a very reasonable price.

I have an old drive-in about 1/2 of a mile from my house. After I detect my yard and a few more sites where I live I am gonna venture over to the old drive in. See what I can come up with. It hasn't been an active Drive In for years. My House sits atop an old Fairgrounds site, so I am anxious to see what I can bring up in my yard.

Great idea! That area should turn up some clad or jewelry for sure.

We have an old abandoned one near us that's on my hunt list. Closed about 25 yrs ago. I'm sure it's been hunted but don't know who would own it. I used google to look at it and it is all green with the half ring humps. worth a try. Good hunting!
