Default independence rock

i was watching my fav. channel, the history channel, and i saw a story about independence rock. i dont know where it is but they said there are 10,000 names of westward settlers from the area of 1850. they said the pioneers had money still and that the rock was so hard it took hours to carve a name into it. one man sat up a business and carved names for around two dallors apiece. well i dont know where inderendence rock is but i would guess this would be a HOT spot for some lucky treasure hunter. like pappy said research, research, research!!!! if anyone has been there hunting please post what you've found there i find this place interesting!!!good hunting to all inkermortis

It's in Wyoming:

Artifact hunting would have to be done on private land, if there is any nearby. It is a State Historic Site.
