Default Old drive in theaters

Here are a couple of links to find those closed and long forgotten drive in theaters. To use this one just click on your state in the upper left corner and then a list of opperating theaters will show first. Scroll down to the lower left and the list will show ( Dead ) lists. I prefer the link on the bottom of this thread.

To use this one just select your state or just keep clicking the next button at the bottom of the page

I've done a few drive in theatre playground areas (usually in front of the screen)......but digging in the gravel areas, man...that's work. Then you get the coins and they're beat up from being driven over by a procession of 4 thousand pound Buicks. I'll bet there's plenty of silver to be had from some of these places...but it's gonna be like "hard rock" mining.

I have also done some detecting at these areas. I generally hit the ground around the snack bar and have done good at these sites. The ground at the areas that i have been to are soft due to the concrete being removed and the ground being plowed. I have found the same as Wyatt in some circumstances that coins come out smashed or beat up pretty bad.One thing I know for shure is that if one of the old forgotten theaters are in your area IT WILL PRODUCE.

Nice links Bill.
I see an old time drive-in (Moonlite in Smithfield) I can remember going there when I was a kid to watch Panocheo

Sadly I inquired years ago about detecting there but was told it was striped mined for coal. This means all the original topsoil is gone
