My dad tells of them bringing in a portable rollerskating ring when he was akid in the coal camp,I'm sure some of them teens back then would lose some of daddy's hard earned miners pay.find out where those were setup atof course it'sprobably now under a tailings pile somewhere

Websites like these depress the heck out of me. I look at the pictures of the children with their parents having such a good time. I envision the kids having the time of their life just riding simple small rides unlike today when they need so much more to fullfill them. I envision the parents packing a picnic lunch and enjoying it under a shade tree, they didn't have the money to buy their lunch at the park but it didn't matter...they were there for a day to have the time of their life.
Such a simpler time........ I miss that in this plastic world that we live in today. |
