Default Erie county

Hi. Was wondering if anyone knows any wonderful places in erie county pa to go detecting? Maybe in Erie, waterford, Edinboro, Cambridge Springs pa? I just went to Presque Isle for the first time detecting, but did not have much luck, anyone have any advice or better luck then me at the beach?

I have a detector from White's called prism V. I have not found any good coins yet because i am just getting started. Was wondering if you could look up Erie county in your book you have. Thanks

I usually i just take out the nails and that's it. If i don't get any hits i might put it back in. Still just learning about it. Any suggestions on what i should keep it at, or where i should go searching?

Also, what about checking out abandoned houses. There may be an online site to see which properties are condemned and you should be able to hunt those grounds. Maybe you can research where Ft. Lebeouf (spelling?) was and the main route of travel from Erie to there. Remember that a lot of roads had taverns about every mile for travelers and horses to rest at.

You have gotten some good advice from people that know what they are speaking about. I always thought that area around Fort LeBouf (spelling again) would be a good place to hunt.
