Default Researching

Hello everyone. I am VERY new here. I am getting some great info on what kind of detector to invest in on the newbie thread so I thought I would try my luck in this thread. I am relocating to New Bern, NC, the county is Pamlico next month and am going to be spending as much time as I can detecting. I will be down at the ocean alot and everywhere else I can. Anyone know of any good research sites, have any ideas where a total beginner might want to go looking aroud? Any input is greatly appreciated!!!!! Thank you.

Yes the county is Craven. There are a couple of us from here in Craven county or right around and 1 or 2 in New Bern. The New Bern area is rich with Civil War history and the is alot here to be found. The trick of course is finding it and getting permission to hunt. But like I said there is definately stuff out there. Good luck with your research!!

AJ, thanks alot for the info. I can't wait to get there. Part of my research will be trying to find people, clubs, etc who know the area and where it is safe to hunt. In the 10min. a day I have to myself right now I am trying to figure out what to research first, I think I have the detector I am getting down, but the rest, YIKES! where to begin. Thanks again for your input, I really appreciate it.
