Dont forget Home Libraries

Just wanted to point out for the newbies out there like myself that to not over look the home libraries of your parents or grandparents. I found a few nice books for my county at my wifes parents home. These books contain basic maps and History on my county and town, that I did not find in my local library yet. The books date back to the 50's & 60's. Not that old but good for a start.

I even found a book of true stories, One of which may turn out to be a treasure hunt, the beauty part is this is not a treasure book of any kind, it maybe worth looking into.

The great thing is you get to borrow or keep the books. The library in many cases have these types of old books as reference only and cannot be taken out of the library.

So ask the old folks about history of the town and county see if they have any old books, maps, newspapers!
