Default Historical soccietys

Hi all ! I sent an email to the cherry Valley historical sosiety last night offering my help in locating an old graveyard.I told them that i had a metal detector that i use to find old coins and relics.I receved an anser this morning stating that they would be very interested in my help with several projects they have going starting in April ! This could be a great way to open some doors and also a great learning experiance to say the least ! Cherry Valley was the site of a raid by the British Tories and Indians under Joeseph Brant in 1778. Cherry Valley massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sounds good Rip.. I've found that if you offer your services and donate your finds it opens lots of doors. You get the oppertunity to not only detect in great spots that would not ordinarily be open to you, they get the pieces of history they are trying to preserve for everyone, and it gives the hobby a good name as well.
Good for you.. Bob
