Default finding it or digging it more important?

Today I dropped off KKfry at a local school while I went to visit my brother at the cemetery. When I got back I pulled over and turned off the car and it didn't start. So I figured I would dig a little too. I found 1 dime 2 pennies. When we ere getting ready to try to fix the car I heard a beep. It was a solid sound. KKfry dug it for me because the ground was too hard for me to dig. It was a quarter.

I was excited. Then KKfry said he gets 12.5 cents of it for digging it.

My question is do I owe him half or do I get it because I detected it or does he get it for digging it?

Please have mercy on me.... LOL

MDR 001.542 states...... The detectorist that applies the first electromagnetic lines of force to the object, being the party who swings the coil, has the option to either a. keep said object or b. dispose of said object any way he/she feels appropriate.....

Hope this helps. JC

Hey Toye

I believe the hobby is called "Metal Detecting", not "Metal Digging". The detector rules the result, and the other person is just along for the ride.

Sounds like a labor dispute to me. It should be covered in the rules that JC referred to.

Thanks
Leo

I wanted to add that the car is fine. My mechanic came and it started up just fine. I think the car has a crush on the mechanic. Every time he is near the car it runs great. I took the car to the mechanics house and he did a test on it with some kind of machine and something about the vapor thing. It would over heat because the fan wasn't kicking on. I don't know what he did but it don't over heat now. I am going to have to keep a photo of my mechanic under the hood to keep my car in line LOL.

As for the quarter we are still arguing over who gets it.

He wouldn't have known where to dig if it weren't for you. You would have been able to dig it eventually, right???

Let me ask you this, did he insist on digging it or did you ask him with batting lashes to dig?

I'll base my decision on the answer.
