Default Insulator ?

Is this an insulator ? It is 3 1/2 " long,sorry,I forgot to put in an
object for size reference. Thanks in advance .

Known around the insulator hobby as a "strain" insulator. They come in a wide variety of colours, shapes and sizes.

I'm not an expert on strains but I believe most of them to be newer production. I am not real sure about approx. when. Like Jay said they do come in a variety of colors
