Default Garrett Ace 250

I have a question..My Garrett Ace 250 won't really sound accurately on Pennies? so i don't know.? is it because the coin is newer? Just wondering maybe it is because of my sensitivity

Dylan-
Are you using the factory settings and in "All Metal Mode"? If so, the penny should sound like a high pitched bell ringing. At least that's what it sounds like to me, whether on top of the ground or in the ground.

You might want to hunt in "All Metal Mode" at first until you get used to the sounds of the targets. You'll get use to it in no time.

I'll try to find this post again. Right now, I am not receiving emails I subscribe to and don't know why. I am sure someone will come along though who has one and help further. Looking forward to hearing what you found

Hey Dylan, pennies tend to ring in from just below a penny to dime. I think it has a lot to do with how the coin is positioned and /or how much the coin has corroded or deteriorated. I hope this helps!

Happy to see you're able to get out and hunt.

It also depends on what type of penny.1982-present Zinc pennys will give a different tone on most detectors as well as Indian head pennys.

Default yeah rip beat me to it

The zlincolns will read ith a lower vdi # than the older all copper pennies the older pennies fool me sometimes,Im thinking I'm about to find a dime.and get all excited
It's funny how we get all excited about finding a little bit of change,I think I'm averaging fifty cents/hr. at the park nowthat I'm learning my machine, but hey I'm not complaining it keeps me in batteries,Just waiting on my first ring!
