Pope coins --- silver?
This is more a silver question than a MD question. I have a set of 4 Pope John Paul II coins that my parents purchased while in Rome in 1983. The obverse has the same profile of the pope. The reverse are different. One features the St Pater & Paul. Another the Pieta.
Here's a picture of the obverse...  I've read where these coins are Sterling. I've read somewhere else that they are not. I dropped one of the coins on my dining room table to test it and it "rang" like a bell as silver would. Anyone have any info on this set: purity, collectable value, etc? Let me know. Thanks!
