Default Our club's hunt Sunday and White's Spectra Speaker Tuesday!

Our club had it's member's only spring hunt on Sunday, everyone brought a covered dish and we had a nice lunch. I went home with a 1921 Morgan dollar, 7 Washington quarters, 16 Mercury & Roosevelt dimes a small screwdriver set. We did something different this hunt, instead of tokens everyone got a ticket and numbers were drawn at the end of the hunt for what would have been the token prizes, didn't win the gold, but that's where the screwdriver set came from.

Tonight was our monthly meeting and we had Keith Zorger from White's giving a presentation on the new Spectra V3. Very interesting presentation and detector.

Yes I am squeezing some detecting in, I've gotten out to hunt 5-6 times since I last posted finds, nothing special, alot of clad and a few other items that I'll take pictures and post them when I get a chance. Our local Strawberry Festival ended Sunday night but the Midway hasn't cleared out yet, hope they're gone by this weekend so I can take my grandson there with me.

Work is picking up a little and chores are way up , refinished a door and painted it, should be dry enough to hang tomorrow, plus plenty of yard work that's finished, except for the weekly mowing, and we have our daughter and family coming in Thu. night for a wedding this weekend.

Anyway, that's my life. Unless my wife finds more work for me, I'll be able to get out more often to hunt after the family leaves.

It sounds like a great hunt! I know I would enjoy that speaker. I really would like to see this V3 up close and personal.

As to the chores? I do understand. I need to spend an entire day in my yard in the flower bed. I go MD'n instead, Beale.

Cograts on the Morgan, those are nice coins, you should do good after the fair leaves, all kinds of stuff gets dropped at those, good luck with it Alan.

Alan;
A couple of our club members are also in yours and came directly from the hunt to our club meeting. We also had the talk on the new white's maching. Looks like a huge learning curve! lol

It's a cool detector, the speaker was good also. Has a nice feel to it and full of features. Club members got a coupon for $100 off a new one. He also hinted that they're working on computer connectivity for it (like the E-trac). The wireless headphones have a good fit also. I'm not buying a new detector anytime soon but would have to choose between it and the E-trac but will wait till the E-trac has built in wireless and the V3 has computer connectivity to decide.

Thanks 'E'. I hunted it a few weeks ago and found more clad and about 7-8 tokens. I expect to find tons of clad and do very little digging .

I think it's kind of like the Explorers, can run it right out of the box with the presets and do well, but takes a long time to master (if possible) all the features and functions.

Thanks Ron! Yup, gotta keep Momma happy! I quit saying I'm done buying detectors, said that after the Ex II and didn't work and then after the SE, now I want a V3 and an E-trac ! Hey if you're going to be in PA for a while, maybe I'll take a trip up there, be good to do another hunt together!
