Okay, now I got your attention. I've been detecting for 5 years now with a XLT E-Series and still haven't found a descent program. All I am doing is finding pennies with my XLT! Maybe 5 silver quarters, a handfull of silver dimes, a couple(2) halves(one that came up with a VDI of 24, yes 24, and I saw it before I scanned it with my XLT!!!) and hundreds of pennies.
75% of the areas are pre 1865 also!!!!! I know for a fact that 60% of THESE areas have not been detected! Why is it I cannot find the silver???? I use the coin program with the AC @ 75 and my pre amp between 3-5. What am I missing here? The ground is thick rich black damp soil so I know depth is not a problem. I search in the historical district's of the city I live in and I always ask the owners for permission and I get about a 75% yes response from them so I know I'm probably the first to detect most of their yards. I looked at all of the programs that everyone suggested and they are all way different from each other. Has anyone actually used these programs and which ones do you (who are reading this) feel are the best ones to use? We need a poll or something on the programs. Any advice, ANY, would be very helpfull at this point. I'm almost ready to hang up my XLT, I'm soooo tired of digging pennies .SILVER. |

Silver;
I'm kinda new with my XLT, have only had it since mid summer. i have found two silver quarters so far and they rang up like all other silver finds in the 80+ vdi. I have only used the regular programs, maybe Buster will chime in as he has run his XLT for years...good luck, maybe it time to have your XLT checked out...??? Rick |

I have tried a bunch of different programs over the years...I use a deep seeking program most of the time...the other time I use my Relic mode..with the VCO on...if it is there, it will pick it up..I would try the relic mode on these spots and see what you come up with..I am sure other XLT users will post also...Chuck......

I have a spreadsheet if you have Excel.
If not I can send a pdf. PM me with email address. MD I use the Silver, Hot Relic, and a minor tweaked Coin Jewelry program. Also Kansas-Dirt had a great stabilization process I copied into a word document. |

Here are a few sites that may be helpful:
JB's - Whites Spectrum & Spectrum XLT Programs http://www.gi.alaska.edu/~jesse/treasure/xlt/xlt.html XLT - Program - Tips on getting DEEP! I just ordered an XLT day before yesterday, and have been looking around on the web (seems to be a lot out there). Good luck, and if you find anything that works for sure let me know (I'll do the same). |
