Default Digging holes again

I have been trying to keep my holes unseen after i retrieve a target to keep places looking neat and for safety. I have also been watching a slew of videos on YouTube and vBTube in the blue band above. Some of the holes these folks leave really look gnarly and disastrous to unsuspecting people walking around. The grass is all torn up and dirt is everywhere. Some even look like a steam shovel went through there. I know that most times everything is not shown in the video and cover up is done afterwards in most, however I still see what are describes as private, landscaped, yards that look as if they have a major mole/vole infestation or used as a bombing range. Please take care and retrieve the right way. also if your making a video for the newer, less experienced folks to see, please show your cover up and a look at the end results as you look back at them. This is very important to the future of our hobby and helps to get permission for some of those less than public areas.

practice in your own yard before going someplace else.hole are probably the #1 reason people won't let ya hunt-they see the mess left by another and think all detectorist are the same-use a drop cloth of some sorts to keep grass looking clean(towel, piece of plastic even heard of some one using a freesbie)

In well manicured areas using a drop cloth and cutting a 3 sided plug is the best way to go. You wont' kill the grass and you can put all the dirt back in the hole.

This is the number one reason for getting metal detecting banned on private property. Would you want someone to come into your yard and leave a mess?

If done properly you will not even be able to tell I've been there!

Practice! Practice! Practice!
