Default What's the difference???

I have read lots of stuff about the X-TERRA 70 & 705
what I think is the 705 is the new version of the 70.
Is this wrong or right.
I am thinking of getting the x-Terra 70 but minelab or any dealers I have seen carry the 70 anymore, but all of them have the 705
Can anyone help me with this.

I can't really answer your question since I don't run either of them. I have heard the 70 is much better than the 705. Sometimes newer, upgraded/improved versons do not make it better.

The 70 has a few less bells and whistles. Their are a few 70's left and at very good prices. I will put it this way. For the way I hunt the 70 is a great unit and the 705 not worth the extra $$ to move up. If I was buying right now I woud get the 705 if for nothing else the 3 year warranty, Beale.

Default X-Terra 70

Thanks for all of the info and the links.
I have read most of it and it's very useful.
I have came to the conclusion that either one would be a good choice.
But with all the info I have came across I'm also interested in the Fisher F75.
X-Terra70 or 705 vs Fisher F75 any ideas about this.

The F75 is in a league by itself, and is probably a great machine. I know that alot of relic hunters wouldn't have anything else. But as far as a 70/705 goes, the names would make you think that there is not alot of difference, with the 705 being a "little" better, or modern. The 705 is a different monster, IMHO, and it's not for the better. I know that for those who have used the 70, and then try the 705, they are not impressed. I'm one of those. The 70 rocks!

agreed. the only thing i like about the 705 over my 70 is the backlight on the screen. i hunted with a guy that has a 705 and i actually prefer my x70.
