Default question about my propointer....

does anyone else's propointer have a mind of it's own ? mine will just start beeping irradically at any given time while I'm trying to pinpoint and I'll hold it up in the air and it'll just keep on beeping. am I just radioactive or something or does this happen to everyone ? also, if you put any pressure at all on the tip of mine it'll start beeping like crazy too. it gets kind of aggrivating at times, but the thing still does it's job very well and for the most part is very reliable and accurate (except for when it goes off as started above). thanks,
BT

i have the same problem with mine if you put too much pressure on the tip. but as for the constant beeping i dunno. try shutting of your detector and see if it stops, might be interference between the two. if thats not it call Garrett, they have excellent customer service. are you wearing jewelry on the hand you're holding it with?

nope, no jewelry.. wedding ring goes in my pocket when I hunt. it does stop though when I turn it off and back on, but it's just weird. it's not really that big of a deal, but I was also thinking it's interference and I was told before I got it and also read places that this think doesn't pick up any interference and it also interferes with my Explorer too if I get it too close.

I have never had this happen to me? It does not interfer with my X-Terra unless I get it close. Then the metal detector just picks it up as a signal. I would call Garrett and talk to them. I bet they would replace it, Beale.

I sold my 560 when I got the Garrett. The 560 is a very good pinpointer, but even with the goofiness that the garrett puts out sometimes, I would have made the same deal over and over again. I've never used a better one than the Garrett.

Somebody already posted about de-tuning it...Just shut it off, turn it back on as you hold it a few inches away from a coin...That should do the trick...
