Default More brains the better

I need some serious input about buying my next machine. I have an old whites gold master and I ain't gonna confess how old it is. I am hoping you all will help me with some different names and models that correspond with my targets of choice. Because of a recent disability, I need to make this purchase count...I will be selling my other hobbies if I need to. So here is some criteria:
I am a gold prospector at heart, so shallow water and nugget shooting and the high mineralization that goes with it, are high priority.
Coins and relics in very old prospecting areas, are also high priority.
Dang, cant keep out of the parks and beaches either, but this would be lower priority...but still needed.
Insight into how my brain works: MineLabs latest 4500 greatly appeals to me...but I am sure I don't need to buy 4 thousand dollars worth of M.D.
Do I really need a pulse induction machine? Is P.I. technology what drives the price up? Is there a machine out there that will make me happy for around 1000.00? I really don't want to go low on this decision...because I probably wont buy another. I also fear buying a "all around use" machine because it almost sounds generic. So, please, anybody, is there a machine out there, or a few to research for my needs? I'll spend what I need to...if I can be confident that I have a high quality up to date machine that will find it if it is there. OR...do I need two different machines? Remembering that I am not rich and that this is still a hobby.
Anyone else feel this way? Personal input is always more reliable than a sales brochure!!! Please let the comments fly!
Much appreciated, plumber

You may want to check out the Minelab 705 and Whites MXT. Both units will find the gold and both will find the coins. If you are looking at high end units you may also want to look at the V3. I know Skate is selling his whole st up at a very good price. Good luck to you, Beale.

you might need to send a pm to skate so he knows your wanting to yack with him..

also keep in mind, the minelab soverign GT its not waterproof, but it is used alot on the beaches, in both shallow water, wet/dry sand and can also be used for dirt fishing too.. but, if your like me and not graceful, I would fall or get knocked over by a wave and then the machines kaput.. also the the GT is just like the excalibur except the excalibur is waterproof and can be used to dive 200 ft. thats another reason why I got the excalibur as I mostly beach and shallow water hunt. so its either get one machine..or buy two.. but I do love my excalibur.
