Default New to this awesome hobby.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this hobby, and so far It's GREAT. Went out today and found my first Silver, a 1898 Barber s Half Dollar. Can't wait to get out again but the weather is getting a little cold, but when you find silver like I did today that will warm you up quick. I live In the State of New York(Southern Tier). If there are any clubs locally out there, please let me know.

Hi Photonut
I'm Larry and I'm new here too and I can remember my first Silver coins,That was a long time ago and its still just exciting to find silver now. There is club in olean N.Y. called Enchanted Moutain Treasure hunters, which I belong to also.I don't know how far away you are but there are several others close .Hope that helps some.We also have a website store and ebay store. The website is called http://metaldetectorsandotherhobbies.com.I hope you find a club close to you.
Larry
