Question just got my Bounty Hunter Discovery 1100

I just tryed it out in the front yard this afternoon within 15 minutes running on all metal ( without discriminating out the iron) I found one memorial penny and one hollow copper bullet shaped object The signal that puzzled me was a silver/copper reading over the cement driveway ( the cement is about 3" thick) Do you think this detector could read through 3" of cement? Short of jackhammering up the driveway to findout Your opinions would be welcome

congrats on the new detector. yes a detector can pick up thru concrete. like Howey said there is probably rebar or wire mesh in it. oh, and if its a driveway its more like 4-6" thick

Congrats on the new detector. I get readings all the time over concrete. Just keep using it and you will find the good stuff, Beale.

congrats on the Discovery. they're pretty good detectors... I just sold my 2200 today to a guy that I work with for his wife. It was a very accurate machine. I kind of think I should've just kept it. oh well... money will do that to a person I guess.

Over a driveway I would think you are picking up rebar. I have a bounty hunter 3300 under the Dick's Sporting Goods name. But a driveway, either filler, but most probably rebar. Lloyd
