Default rechargable batteries for Discovery 1100?

My BH Discovery 1100 requires 2, 9 volt alkaline batteries. My question is do they make rechargable alkaline 9Vs? and will a standard 9V charger work on alkalines?

I use this for my pinpointer PowerEx MH-C490F Stealth 9V Battery Charger w/ Car Adapter [9V Battery Chargers].

I also use this brand for my XTerra 70. Long life and no problems.

You have to get a rechargable 9v and a charger. Some folks say they do not work as well. Good luck to you, Beale.

Any updates on rechargeable batteries? Plan on doing a lot of detecting and want to save some money on batteries.

I know I can get nimh rechargable 9 volt batteries. However Bounty Hunter says in there owners manual to only use alkalines which require a type of charger not easily available supposedly if you put alkalines in a normal charger they will blow up. Defineatly not a fun experience
