Testing White's NEWEST to Come in December, Prototype Detector... love'n it!!! « on: November 24, 2005, 07:04:47 am »
I'm going to enter the Golden Gate Park Day After Thanksgiving 'Shootout' between the Majors (White's, Minelab and who ever else dares to come)....

I can't wait to compare signals with the likes of Salinas Tom, maybe even Rocklin Ron with their Minelab Explorers.

I'm going to be using a NEW Prototype Detector White's has developed. I'm not going to say too much about it except it has FULL Visual Discrimination, Target Tone ID and White's Latest Ground Tracking System.......

I took it to Montara Beach and under full Gain, found it Smooooth and Quiet leading me to recover Targets as deep as 15".

With this new refined ground tracking system, it is soooth. The Detector (not sure if they have finalized the name...... shhhhh) is deep and can handle all manner of ground. Even found a White Gold Bracelet and some really tiny pieces of Non-Ferrous Metal.

One of my two Treasure Hunting Friends came down from Citris Heights..... Trapper Larry and briefly tried it and was IMPRESSED. The Detector's operation reminded Larry of his MXT, but smoother and with a much welcomed Target Tone ID.

Interestingly enough.... while hunting into the Salt Water Waves, it was smooth sailing. While Larry was playing with this new detector, I had a chance to use his Explorer II: over the wet salt, it was surprisingly noiser/reactive, so I had to reduce the Sensitivity Level down under 20 to smooth things out a bit... still, this NEW White's Unit was much quieter, almost like my Surfmaster PI, but with VISUAL and AUDIO TONE ID....love it.

Because of the Tone ID (SEVEN Tones), you can RUN the Discrimination Level all the way down to Iron Accept and MAXIMIZE your Depth (Signal to Noise)..... A BIG ADVANTAGE.

Anyway, I decided to break the news on the White's Forum....

Everyone... have a Happy Thanksgiving (and a Special Thank You for allowing me to field test this finalized prototype Pro Detector). Hope to see you all at MT-BIG REC, Golden Gate Park on Friday.Report to moderator Logged

The XLT is the only 6.59hz detector selling now and i think this new detector is going to put the final nail in the coffin for these detectors. They have been a mainstay for Whites for many yrs and it's sad to see them go. BYE BYE XL PRO, CLASSICS, EAGLES, 5900,6000's, and perhaps the XLT. I wonder if this a single or multi frequency detector. Thanks for posting Boobie. HH Bill
