Default Organized Hunts

Most organized hunts are held on personal property that is leased by the organizer. Participants are selected by a draw and pay an entry fee to help pay for the Lease, Porta Potty’s and organizational fees.

An example would be 400 hundred people sign up but in most cases only 200 names will be drawn to actually hunt due to the size of the location. The rest are put on an alternate list so in the event some of the original 200 decide they can’t make the hunt alternates are moved up to hunt.

Also release forms have to be submitted, these are legal forms that do not hold the organizer, landowner, or board members liable for accidents hunters may occur during the hunt.

Some hunts take place on land of historical value and actual artifacts are dug (Rev War, Civil War, etc.). Other types of hunts are seeded hunts which items are planted in the ground prior to the hunt. Coins and tokens can be planted, the hunter who finds them keeps the coins and the tokens are turned in for prizes that are offered. Some hunts offer Detectors, digging tools, shirts, hats, etc.

Hope this helps and if you have further questions please feel free to email me. I have a post asking who would be interested in a TQ hunt but thus far have only gotten 16 replies, if a hunt would take place we would need more then 16 to make it happen.
