If you are a new member, please introduce yourself by posting in the New to Treasure Quest Forum.

Registration to this forum is free! We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below.

By registering at the Treasure Quest Forum community, you are agreeing to the following rules.

Treasure Quest reserves the right to remove any posting it finds unsuitable. Members who refuse to abide by the following rules will be removed from the discussion forum.

The following rules will be strictly enforced:

1. Please Use Descriptive Thread Titles

When you post a new thread, please give us some idea of what it contains in the title. Thread titles like "What’s This" or "HELP!!!" or "Check This Out!" are not helpful and make no sense. Most of all it helps stop multiple threads on the same subject and helps when someone is searching for related information.

2. PLEASE Don't Shout

Please don’t use all caps in trying to get your message across. Messages written in all caps are annoying, hard to read, and loud.

3. Lets Keep it Clean

This is a Family Forum. You may not post defamatory messages. You may not post messages that are abusive or designed to harass or intimidate another individual. Do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually oriented, hateful, threatening, copyrighted or otherwise violate any laws.

4. Has it Been Posted Before?

Please search for an existing thread on a subject before you post one about it. Chances are good that your question has already been answered. We have a very good search feature on these forums, use it. Starting topics that have already been answered in great detail is a waste of everyone's time. Look to see if information you are about to post has just been posted by someone else, if not then post away.

5. Posting in Categories

Please choose the appropriate forum for posting. If you start a thread in a forum that should be under another category, it WILL be moved.

6. Do Not Multi-post

Multi posting is when you post the same message multiple times in various threads or forums. We only need to see it once. Duplicate postings take up unnecessary space and if found will be removed.

7. Stay on Topic

Keep threads on topic. If you've got something completely unrelated to say then start a new thread. Posts or comments should contribute to the topic being discussed.

8. Don’t Discriminate and be Civilized

Don't use racial, ethnic, or gender slurs, religiously derogatory comments or any other personal discrimination. Respect others' religious beliefs and culture. Recognize that others have an opinion that may differ from yours. Stay away from debates over metal detectors and detector companies. Please don't post your political views & opinions here as they will be deleted. Keep the language appropriate.

9. Consider the Impact of Your Words Before You Post Them

Be considerate and think of what your saying before you type. This is a family site so watch the sarcasm.

10. Private Messaging

If you have something to say to another member please don’t post it, we would rather you send them a private message or email. Solicitations through private messaging and our email system are prohibited. Anyone receiving such solicitations please contact the Administration. Do not send any private messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually oriented, hateful, threatening or otherwise violate any laws.

11. Posting Picture Images

Images or attachments may be posted as long as they are not offensive.

12. Contests

Members wishing to hold a contest can post them in the TQ contest forum only. Sponsors wishing to hold a contest can do so in the TQ contest forum and in their Treasure Quest provided sponsors forum area. Contests or their announcement are not permitted in the general public are of the forum.

13. Avoid Lengthy Signatures

Lengthy signatures are discouraged.

14. Links in signatures,

If you link to a website that sells a product and you are not a current Treasure Quest sponsor they will be removed.

15. Flaming Wars

Personal attacks against any member or any website are not tolerated here.

16. Advertising in Posts and Private Message is not allowed

If you're wanting to promote your personal metal detecting site you may post your link in our links forum, however you must link back to Treasure Quest. Members wishing to sell their used detectors and accessories may place them free of charge in our classified forum. Sponsors are permitted to sell their product in our classified forum and in their TQ sponsors forum which is supplied to them free of charge for this purpose. There’ll be no open advertising in the public forum area. Endorsements or critiscisms of non-TQ sponsors will be removed.

17. The Farming or Spamming of Members

Members are encouraged to informed any TreasureQuest administrator of any unsolicited emails or Private Messages seeking to promote a business that is not a TQ sponsor or in support of another forum not linked to Treasure Quest. We support our sponsors because they support us. Unsolicited attempts to use TreasureQuest to steer business from our sponsors is not right. TreasureQuest does not discourage anyone from being a member of multiple forums. Just don't farm for members here. We don't do it and will not tolerate it being done here.

18. Links to other sites

Please put all links to other web pages in the Treasure Quest Links forum.

You know....
Out of ignornce on my part, TQ wasn't my initial choice for an MD forum. But I got so tired of the sarcasm at that "other place" that it didn't take me long to decide to go looking. When I got here, the first thing I read about were remarks about TQ being a family and about the compassion you have for one another's illnesses, problems, and the like. Yes, thankfully, you cut up with each other some, and yes, you poke good-natured fun at each other. That's good because you know what? It makes me realize just what a good move I made because it shows that TQ is a family!

Uh yeah, I know I'm preaching. But maybe you'll forgive this new guy for making some very obvious observations.

Thanks Greg, for the rules. If they help to keep us a family, then I say, bring'em on.
