I think Ive decided on this as my first detector. About the tones. Are the tones hard to distinguish?? I know Ill have to practice very much. Im not lazy, just finish splitting a cord of firewood and didnt use a wood splitter, lol. Just wanted you to know im not lazy and will practice if I buy it. I looked at the Tejon also. It needs so many batteries, what makes it so much different that it needs that much more power.
Also, will I need the smaller coil. Im sure I can find some junk areas. I already know of a few. Use to hunt with my dad back in the 70s and 80s and remember a few old school grounds he covered. Is pinpointing with the standard coil difficult?? Also , I know i want coil covers but do they make a weather cover for the electric component box?? Well thats it for now, but,Ill be back. Thanks John |

Also John the pinpointing is easy as pie in my opinion. So I have no reservations about getting you to buy a Tesoro. They are excellent machines and the lifetime warranty is not to be beat! Ok there ya go John, thank you very much for asking.

Just what John said. Not having a screen does not make it any Less of a detector. I had a DFX but for me Personally it was to much and I was spending alot of time looking at the screen and got confusing for me. I have a Vaquero and LOVE it. You will be able to ground balance it in seconds and the tones will come to you with no problem. Like John said, Good hits will have their own sweet tone. I just bought a Tejon from John and I'm sure I will Love it to and John is really an Excellent guy to deal with. The Vaquero, Lightweight, Easy to use, Built great, Gets the Job Done and you can't beat the Lifetime Warranty.

just got my vaquero friday and I love it!! believe me the tones
will tell you what you need to know. its easy to ground balance takes about 30 seconds. the discrimination works great and is also easy to use .I set the discrimination so I can pick up a penny and nickel {just a bit short of the 5 cent mark on mine} at this setting you don't pick up foil and it blocks out nails also. the pinpointing is easy also I don't use the pinpoint button I just X the target and dig. the sweet spot is right in the middle of the coil. |
