Keep the Sensitivity as high as you can and also keep your coil as close to the ground as you can. Just enjoy because it is a great little machine.

Hey John, How deep would you say it is in good to moderate ground?

Say maybe 7-8 inches in good soil, and about 6 inches in moderate ground.

Hi Silver, I try not to get into any depth predictions on detectors but there are many variables. I see no reason why the Silver uMax couldn't get to 8 inches. I have been as deep as a foot with the Golden uMax. I tell ya the Silver is a great light weight performing detector. Ok enjoy your Tesoro and they make wonderful instruments. God Bless and happy hunting!

I usually start out on a disc. of just below 5c, and run the sens. at 8-10. If the stuff is there, you will find it. I LOVE my Silver, and I've owned a bunch of machines. Good Luck
