I had thought about buying a new Vaquero, or at least something with manual ground balance. I looked at all the major brands, and came down to Fisher and Tesoro as having great depth. It's been a bit confusing, and I have spent many, many hours reading manuals, reading reviews, viewing posts by users...........I have a lot of knowledge, but couldn't zero in on one great detector.
So on a hunch, I bid on a Tesoro on Ebay and won. I figured I will try one and see how they feel. It's nothing great, a Bandido, but it is a MicroMax with GB and I can use it for a while to see how I like it. I already have an Ace 250, but wanted the GB feature for better depth and to try using sound rather than a LCD display. I guess it was a good deal, $235, but it is not the Bandido 2, so I may have to order the manual. Or maybe not, since it seems like it matches the other MicroMax detectors. I read that the Bandido operates at 12kHz instead of the common 10 or 14 of the newer units. Lets hope it has some depth. |

Nice response from Tesoro. I emailed them and asked if I could get a manual for the Bandido. Heidi emailed me back and said that Tesoro made 4 different Bandido models, so just let her know which model and she would send one out. I told her the uMax, and sent her the Ebay link with the pictures, so I guess they will send one. Response was within 2 hours. Sweet.

Wow. Impressive collection, Chuck. I heard that the same circuit board thats in the Bandido is the same as the Bandido 2. From what I heard, you can add the threshold dial to the Bandido. Once it arrives I may check it out, as I know my electronics.
Someone said the boards on the Bandido 1 and 2, Vaquero and Cibola is the same circuit board with just different dials in place. |

Got the Bandido today. It spits and sputters in AM mode, so I guess I'm just going to be trying to figure it out this weekend.
