First off, great forum!
I have had my Silver uMAX for two months and am thinking about getting an additional coil. Any suggestions? I live and hunt in Minnesota for coins and relics (if I ever find any relics ). Which coils give greater depth? Thanks! Sean |

hello there, well i hope this helps, according to the reviews of read in metal detector review that the 12 x 10 coil gets the best depth, anywhere's from 9 to 12" and i'm assuming in good soil, if your going to be hunting in trash sites the 4" and 5.75" are your best bet and far as the wide scan coils i'm not really sure about, hope this helps you out.

If you are only going to buy one coil then you have to decide which is more important.... coins or relics?
The 4" would be better on coins(and jewelry, buttons and bullets) in trashy areas, but you will not get much past 4 inches. The 10x12" will give you great depth on relics(and other items) in not so trashy areas. Be forwarned that the 10x12" a bit on the heavy side. This coil will bang out the depth.
