Default Which coil for Silver uMAX?

First off, great forum!

I have had my Silver uMAX for two months and am thinking about getting an additional coil. Any suggestions? I live and hunt in Minnesota for coins and relics (if I ever find any relics). Which coils give greater depth?

Thanks!

Sean

Default coils

hello there, well i hope this helps, according to the reviews of read in metal detector review that the 12 x 10 coil gets the best depth, anywhere's from 9 to 12" and i'm assuming in good soil, if your going to be hunting in trash sites the 4" and 5.75" are your best bet and far as the wide scan coils i'm not really sure about, hope this helps you out.

The 12x10 will give you super depth.

I have found lots of good relics with my Silver. When you crank up the sensitivity as high as you can without chatter(and I hunt just below nickel), the stock coil is great, in my opinion. I have several trashy areas where I relic hunt, and I go REAL slow and that machine "picks" through trash great, and I'm impressed with the depth. But, nothing wrong with getting another "specialty" coil, if you want one.
