Hi everyone,
The Tesoro Tejon coupled with the new 5.75" widescan round coil is a killer combo! As you may know already the Tejon is a very deep machine with the 9x8 concentric coil. But if you want to work the cluttered area's of a park or an empty lot the Tejon and the new 5.75 coil is a serious setup. I have found the widescan to be very sensitive and I can easily ground balance it. Tesoro has even marked the sweet spot with a red dot! I will tell ya it is sweet! Of course with such a small coil the Tejon is even lighter. I can also run the Tejon's sensitivity into the orange area where you get maximum smoke! Of course if you hold the Tejon straight out it will give you some chatter but it goes away when I lower it to the ground and start scanning. I feel this coil can go 6" easily, it will be somewhat less in nasty ground. It comes with the scuff cover and it fits well. I like using this combo to work sidewalk edges and strips. I was working a sidewalk edge the other day where I have been with a multitude of machines before. I have thoroughly covered this spot, yet the 5.75 widescan and the Tejon picked up a 1944S wheatie in short order! The wheatie was on edge to boot. It was about 5 and a half inches deep. But the Tejon keyed in on the wheatie with a nice tone. Of course I was going slow trying to find those possible targets that I may have missed in the past.
I just wanted to make a report on this combo and let everyone know it is a sure winner! I am leaving the 5.75 widescan coil on my Tejon for sure. I must say also there is nothing wrong with knob driven analog machines especially if they are from Tesoro. Tesoro has a great line of detectors to cover whatever type of detecting you do. Ok thanks and God Bless all here on the forum. I hope to hear about those great finds too.
