Hi Dave,
From the description, it could be a number of things. Andrew Jackson has appeared on many tokens & medals over the years. He was often the subject of scorn on various hardtimes tokens during his presidency. However, he also shows up in token form during the 20th century, on Cracker Jack prize coins, gas station giveaways, etc.

Please post a picture after it is cleaned up.

Congratulations, I think any token is an interesting find.
Ed

Default Jackson - Shell Oil?

MOST of the quarter sized Presidential tokens are the modern (ca. 1960 up) Shell Oil (and other oil company) give-aways, issued in AL & BR. You would go to a gas company and get a token with each purchase, and the idea was to complete the set. The Franklin Mint issued MILLIONS of these. I regret I cannot tell if yours is modern from the pic or not, sorry.

Default Andrew Jackson Token

Dave44. What you have is a coin (token) that was a Cracker Jack prize. These date from 1933 - 1936. I found the same in a local lake this year while I was hunting around some private docks. In the 1930's if you saved 5 of these and sent them in you would become a member of the Cracker Jack Mystery club. Hope this helps.
