TQ Group Buy Rules

The Group Buy at Treasure Quest is one of the ways that TQ sets itself apart from the rest of the detecting sites. It is meant to be a fun way for TQ members to have a chance to obtain something they want for their detecting hobby needs at a fraction of the cost.

In order to assure that each participant has a positive experience, we ask that you review these rules prior to joining in the Group Buy process.


You must be a registered member of Treasure Quest to participate in the TQ Group Buy.

Specific items can be chosen for purchase but any item can be substituted for a Gift Certificate with the supplier for that particular Group Buy.

The Coordinator will announce the name of the supplier at the beginning of the Group Buy. Participants are encouraged to review the supplier’s website to see what items are available.

Participants are assigned a number and the name of the winner is not known until the number is cross-checked with the names of the participants.

Winners of a Group Buy must sit out the next TQ Group Buy.

The Group Buy Coordinator will announce:

1) the cut-off date for sign-up,
2) the cut-off date for the receipt of funds and,
3) the expected date of the drawing.

No additional participants may join after the sign-up date has passed. Funds must be in the hands of the Coordinator by the date chosen by the Coordinator. Monies not arriving in time will be deducted from the total of the Group Buy and returned to the sender. Drawing dates are approximate and subject to change.

The final amount of the Group Buy may be changed at the discretion of the Coordinator to make the cost more affordable to the participants.

Participants living outside of the Lower 48 United States are responsible to verify if the vendor can ship to their location before they sign up for the Group Buy.

PayPal is the preferred means of payment because it is fast and safe. However, participants using PayPal must add 3% to the final Group Buy figure to cover the PayPal transaction fee of 3%.

Money orders and checks may be written for the final Group Buy amount with no additional fees added.

Participants may enter as many times as they wish in any particular Group Buy but they must indicate if they are buying more than one share at sign-up. You may increase the amount of shares you are buying during the sign-up period by notifying the Coordinator.

No refunds of shares can be given once the coordinator receives the monies, except if the payment misses the cut-off date or if the Coordinator decides otherwise.

Treasure Quest assumes no responsibility for Group Buy or the item(s) purchased once the funds are transferred to the supplier and the winner has been chosen and announced.
