Default G'day All

I'd like to say Hi and How's it going. My names Rob and I've been enjoying metal detecting for twenty odd years mainly for gold and relics but recenly got keen on detecting for coins and rings so I picked up an ACE150 last week to start me off and I will have a couple of Tesoro's coming in the next few weeks so I thought I'd drop in and introduce myself.

I forget Gregory whether it was a post made on another forum by Pappy or Robzombie that brought me here so I did'nt fill out the box when I registered, sorry about that boys, maybe they could get half a point each?

Anyway I look forward to talking in the future. Rob.

Thanks for the welcome Pappy and Gregory I look forwad to chatting.
I've done a few hours testing with this little ACE to get used to its language and match up some headphones so I set the clock for an early wake up this morning to give it it's first real outing and Yep a couple of days of solid rain...aint it always the way.

Hi John thanks for that. With a bit of luck the rain will clear in the morning and I hope to make a few finds and post up a pic. The spot I'm off to covers 3-4 acres of picnic ground barbeque areas and a small man made beach on a freshwater creek, it will take a fair few weeks but is only ten minutes from home. I've had quite a few Minelabs over the years, still got three, but I'm after a bit of a change of sound and weight. I was going to buy an Elite or a Quattro but really would not get to the ocean often enough to warrant it. I have never used an Explorer and to be honest even though I like to get to know a new detector I probably dont have the nous to get the best out of one. I'II have a Vaquero for the goldfields and a Silver( for my eldest boy ) coming soon, was going to get him a 250 but there may be a bit of cross talk with the two Ace's. Ya gotta love them Minelabs though.
Talk to you soon John....
