Default Smeagol = Steve

Gollum and I have a lot in common. We both loves the precious, we're both bald, we both run around in just a pair of shorts most of the time, we both are looking for the "one" ring that "rules" them all, we hunt in the water, we talk to ourselves, we both eat fish (I cook mine!).

We are a little different too. I'm married to a wonderful woman. I have 2 grown kids (1 boy, the oldest at 32 and a daughter whose 25) in upstate NY and 2 beautiful step daughters, (28 and 20), all of whom I am really proud of.

I am taking care of my 88 year old WW2 Navy-veteran father in Puerto Rico while my wife and the youngest step-daughter are in Oregon getting her through college. I go up there 3 -4 times a year to visit.

The picture is from a recent visit and taken just north of Tillamook along the Oregon coast.

Someday I will do a little hunting there but still not sure where we will finally settle. Thinking about the SouthWest (nuggets!) with a summer place near my kids in NY but for now, we're keeping the options open.

Nice to see your face my friend. I don't think you look like your avatar though it must be the cooked fish that made your skin look so much better since that avatar photo. My grandpa is 82 and a ww2 vet. We are lucky though he lives right next door. It is a wonderful thing you are doing and I know he loves having you there.

Steve, thanks for sharing, great photo, great family (accepting of you being there for your dad), and also great of you being there caring for your dad!

I'm not sure about what Julie said about you not looking like your avatar, I can see a resemblence

Nice photo, Steve! Very nice to finally see you. I seriously laugh every time I see your avatar. I'm thinking to myself, "he can't be that ugly!!" You're very handsome and I think that Smeagol is cool, but you're giving the wrong impression!!!!!

I was at that very turn off, close to Tillamook this past June. I absolutely love it up there. We did the Tillamook Cheese Factory tour and stopped at the air museum, too.

I think it's really great that you're taking care of your father. I'm sure he really appreciates all of your help, and your family must miss you fiercely.

Thanks Steve always nice to put a face to someones name. The mental image I had formed of you was somewhat different. (But then they always are.) How is the leg coming along, about ready to get back to hunting? Take care and the best of luck. Richard
