I am new to detecting.... I retired in January with my newly purchased Explorer II and I am having a great time. This is good exersize for an old man! (I turned 66 Thursday)

I bought a Garrett Gti 2500 in December of 2004 in anticaption of retirement, but quickly decided that the Garrett was not for me. I tried out the Exp II with the X-1 probe and I love it. I am having loads of fun with it. It came with an 8 inch coil, and I have since bought a WOT.
Yesterday I ordered the SunRay 5.5 inch coil.

I bought a detector in 1982 and hunted with it for about 6 months, but it broke and long work hours had me put this hobby aside awaiting retirement.

I now hunt ball parks, playground and old home sites. Seems Clad is everywhere, but I have managed a few silvers, lockets and earrings.

I had logged in on this site a while back, and started going over it today. There seems like a bunch of nice hunters hanging out here.
