Default Howdy

Hi all, my name is Mike and I hail from the great golden state of California. I’ve been an avid camper and rock collector for longer than I can remember, and being somewhat of a history buff I enjoy ghost town hunting and long road trips to out of the way places, and just about anything to do with the great outdoors. A few years ago I took up gold panning and from there I started studying basic geology as to better understand where to find the gold, and also to find out how different rocks are formed.

Now add to all of that the fact that I’m a pack rat and scrounge I figure the next logical step for me is a metal detector and some treasure hunting…so here I am. Unfortunately my knowledge of metal detectors is that they can be very expensive and they go BEEP, in others words zero.

So if you don’t mind a novice hanging around asking stupid questions, I think I found a home.

Mike

Default Thanks everyone....

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

I’m looking forward to this new hobby, and my wife says she also is behind me on this. She probably figures that I won’t be able to clutter up the garage with the small things that I might find under ground.
