Hi Bryan. You are only finding old Roman coins? You should be ashamed. But then not everybody can be as lucky as me. I went over to the neighbor's yard yesterday since I had about an hour and I found four pull tabs and an unidentifiable piece of metal. If I found something that old they would probably have to bury me in the whole I just dug. Trust me, those will be great to show the grandkids some day.

I know Roman coins are not found in the US, but they are quite common in Germany. The deepest I have had to dig in 13 inches for a small group of bronze coins. They were giving me the silver tone so I dug them up. I am not discouraged with finding only these or more current german pfenning's and marks. MD'ing gives me a chance to get out into nature to appreciate what nature is and conserve some small pieces of history. I am sure in the future I will put some of these Romans up for sale, but that will have to wait untill my deployment to Afghanistan is finished....sometime in February 2006.
