?? about ground balancing w/ Tesoro Vaquero

Don't quite understand how to do the ground balancing? Any help appreciated!

NORMALLY ON THE TESORO MODELS EVERYTHING STARTS AT 12 NOON WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ON SWITCH. IF YOU HAVE A MODEL WITH THE GROUND BALANCE PRE SET YOU ARE IN BUSINESS. THE TURN ALLOWANCE ON THE TESORO IS USUALLY ONE COMPLETE TURN AND POSSIBLY 1 1/2 TURNS ON THE GROUND BALANCE. WHEN FIRST STARTING UP YOUR TESORO TRY SETTING THE GROUND BALANCE AT THE 12 O'CLOCK POSITION THEN TURNING IT 5 TURNS COUNTER CLOCKWISE AND THEN 2 TURNS BACK CLOCKWISE AND ADJUST YOUR THRESHOLD FROM THERE......PAPPY

So..first ground b..5 counterclock,,then clock then set then discriminate mode...and I do this every time?? Got another question...how deep can I detect something? I did find an old pipe and a broken heavy metal jar top, and a whole lot of rocks.. can I set the detector to specifically find artifacts like indian tools? How bout thinks like old milkglass? I know where there is a large area where antique dishes should be? Thanks. I will figure a way to return the kindness.

FIRST...HAVE ALL YOUR CONTROLS SET AT 12 O'CLOCK POSITION WITH THE DETECTOR TURNED OFF. SECOND..PUT YOUR TOGGLE SWITCH OVER TO DISC. MODE. THIRD..TURN YOUR GROUND BALANCE KNOB 5 TURNS COUNTER CLOCKWISE AND THEN BACK TWO TURNS CLOCKWISE..FOURTH...TURN YOUR DETECTOR ON AND WAIT FOR THE BATTERY CHECK SIGNAL TO GO NULL..FIFTH..SET YOUR THRESHOLD UNTIL YOU HEAR JUST A SLIGHT HUM...SIXTH...SWITCH FROM DISC. TO ALL METAL...SEVENTH...RAISE AND LOWER YOUR COIL TO THE GROUND TO SEE IF YOU HEAR ANY CHANGE IN THE SOUND...IF YOU HEAR A LOUD CHANGE WHEN YOU LOWER THE COIL...TURN YOUR GROUND BALANCE COUNTER CLOCKWISE TO ELIMINATE IT IF THERE IS NO CHANGE IN SOUND YOU ARE GROUND BALANCED.....PAPPY

BE SURE TO DO THIS OVER CLEAN GROUND....

Well I'm going to copy this..the only thing is the togle switch.
Don't reall know what that one is on mine..don't mind me .. just a..well I'll let my husband have the rights to that discription.. He was shocked I even tried this..Well have to return to the forest in early am. got lots of hikers coming in to the woods to drink and break beer bottles and let there dogs run a muck!! Hope it rains again..second thought I spent 27$ on Repel and Norada bug spray and wish the creatures would all go west!!
Happy weekend.. when I get back in a week I'll check in. Hey do you folks have regional rallys.. I'm in some camping/rv clubs and we have great times at them. I'd help out organize one , I've done a lot of that kind of thing!! Boy this is a great hobby for kids..better than tv and gameboys, hope I get good enough to start something up for a group. IF YOU COULD PROVIDE ME WITH A PIC OF THE CONTROLS ON YOUR DETECTOR PREHAPS I COULD TELL YOU MORE.
I THINK IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC IF YOU COULD START A METAL DETECTING CLUB. I HAVE STARTED APPROX. 40 SINCE I HAVE BEEN DETECTING AND ABOUT 30 OF THEM ARE STILL GOING STRONG. IT IS REALLY GREAT TO GET OUT AND HUNT BUT IT IS JUST AS GREAT TO BE ABLE TO MEET WITH A BUNCH OF PEOPLE THAT SHARE THE SAME INTEREST. KID'S IN PARTICULAR NEED SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO KEEP THEM FROM THE CRAZY WORLD WE ARE IN TODAY.
WE EXPECT TO HAVE OUR FIRST TQXLT RALLY (GET TOGETHER) IN 2006. WILL LET YOU KNOW WHERE WHEN THE DECISION IS MADE....PAPPY
