Hello, my name is Amy and I am a 43-year old mother of 3 wonderful young men, all currently in college. I have been married to Jeff for 22 years. I am the only one in the family with the TH gene. I inherited the gene from my father, who used to take me metal detecting and treasure hunting in various wooded places while I was growing up. I love to dig for bottles, and I look forward to the day when I dig my first 1800's privy. I use a Garrett detector, and the best things I've ever found were 5 silver rings at the beach in Florida, and a 1900 Indian Head penny. Also two tootsie toy cars that were quite old. I don't have as much luck detecting as I'd like, but I keep on trying. I will enjoy reading about your conquests out there in the field; they inspire me to keep looking!

Why, thank you for the warm welcome! "Boobie", (gosh it's tough for me to think that's what you're actually called!) I live in Somerset, PA. Two of my sons are Geneva College students, so I've been to Beaver Falls a few times. I think it's great that they're rerouting that main road that goes through the campus, how about you? My oldest son was almost hit one day by a driver as he was crossing the street. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading the posts here, and learning a thing or two! Now that the cold weather has arrived, I don't know how much detecting I'll be doing until Spring. And Sue in the UK, you've got three girls and I've got three boys! Do any of your girls mind that you metal detect? I think my boys think I'm nuts!
