Default Or Perhaps we could use a time machine to improve things.

We may have to wait for a while for this technology but it's something to keep in the back of your mind.

Cheers Mate,

BDA

I would love to jump forward to the year 3001 and use my metal detector. Imagine finding a 2000 quarter and thinking wow this is old.
Waiting for Technology? I believe if you dream it it can happen. Who would have ever thought we would be starting our cars from our houses. Time machine well maybe not but it is fun Imagining

Default I'm almost finished 'A Brief History of Time' by Stephen Hawking

He theorizes that if you could enter the event horizon of a black hole (without getting ripped apart of course) then time would stop. Potentially, with time stopped all points in time would be accessible. It's just a theory but it least it opens the possibility of time travel.

Cheers,

BDA

Cheers,

So then all your saying we need to do is create a black hole enter said black hole and we'd have all points in time accessible. Well maybe they could use one of those superconducting super colliders like C.E.R.N. You'd only need to create a very small black hole and for only a very short time right. I mean have the test subject standing in a selected spot, create the black hole right at that location for what a nano-second, or however long is needed to enter the event horizon.

If it worked as theorized the test subject could choose a point in time say the next day to appear and prove the test was successful.

Of course one runs into the problem, if that was a viable way to time travel it would be a one way only ticket (at least to the past), as once you entered the time period you'd have no way of creating another black hole to travel back to your present.

I really like science and sci-fi way too much. he he he. But hey if you figure out a way to make it work. You know no time paradoxes, destruction of the earth in the process, etc etc. Let me know I'll join you on a time trip. :)

Unless of course you have one of these...

So.... will Hillary become the next prez?

Will the Bejing Olympics be canned?

What am I talking about?

I missed him first time around, but as an avid sci-fi watcher/reader myself, I found the John Titor story to be a fascinating diversion.

"Although there is debate over the exact date it started, on November 02, 2000, a person calling themselves Timetravel_0, and later John Titor, started posting on a public forum that he was a time traveler from the year 2036.

One of the first things he did was post pictures of his time machine and its operations manual. As the weeks went by, more and more people began questioning him about why he was here, the physics of time travel and his thoughts about our time. He also posted on other forums including the old Art Bell site. In his posts John Titor entertained, angered, frightened and even belittled those who engaged him in conversation.

On March 24, 2001, John Titor told us he would be leaving our time and returning to 2036. After that, he was never heard from again. Speculation and investigation about who John Titor was and why he was online continues to this day.

Although it may be easy to dismiss all this as science fiction, most people who read his posts agree that there is something very haunting about John Titor and what he said. In addition, and open to more debate, he also made a series of predictions and comments that eerily seem to be coming true."

I thought that the Shadow only knew what evil lurked in the hearts of men? I didn't realize he also knew all about singularities and time travel, kewl!
I just got around to finishing Stephen Hawkins' book ' A Brief History of Time ' he makes some interesting points and some progress is being made with the practical aspect of his theories. Will this translate into time travel by 2036?, tough call but probably doubtful. Of course I also remember when my uncle got the first subcontractor status in Canada to sell and repair this wierd machine called a 'micro computer' the rest of the family said he was NUTZ!, who would want one of those stupid things? Uncle Ken did alright with the wierd machines, now he plays with his thoroughbred horses on his horse farm. Crazy like a fox, old uncle Ken. If you look at the advances in technology since WWII, who can say where we'll be by the middle of this century?

Cheers,

BDA
