Default Rings of the Truckee

Rings off the Virginia ST Bridge.

It was a tradition for a long time that if you got divorced in Reno, Nevada you tossed your wedding rings off the bridge.

That was the lore from the 40's to the 70's. No one in thier right mind would toss diamonds or gold off a bridge these days... not with 27 pawn shops just down the street.

I've done some research and heard stories. 40 years of history and only a few recored floods, Given a distance for travel per flood I have a plan. I've seen the guys in the river... 4 years now I think, checking under the bridge with detectors looking for that "Ring".

My guess is they are all aproximatly 2-5 miles down river.
This summer with my BH "Gold Nugget" coil I'll be testing this theroy.

Sound reasonable?

NV Rick

The terrain is minimal, 500 feet over 25 miles. (BS guess without googling and finding out) realistic.

I remember the flood New Years 97, oh an could you hear the boulders moving and slamming into eachother and the bridges.

Theres many deep water/slow moving sections that only a major flood would get the material in the deep areas moving. (Downtown Reno is shallow waters) I figured 2 miles would be a good starting point for 40 years ago.

It's on my MD list. you bet.
