Smile Around the World in 8 Clues - This is IT!!!

Around the World in 8 Clues!

Welcome to “Around the World in 8 Clues” – the TOUGHEST virtual hunt on TQ! The hunt officially kicks-off TOMORROW, March 10th - so I hope all of you are ready for a lot of fun and a chance to win some GREAT prizes!

PLEASE READ this post carefully - as it may look familiar to my first post announcing the upcoming hunt - but I've made some updates that you'll need in order to participate. I will LOCK the original post -so all hunt responses will be attached to THIS post.

About the Hunt

AW8 (to abbreviate the name of the hunt) will consist of 8 clues; the FIRST of which will identify the starting point for the hunt – followed by seven (7) additional clues which will take the hunters to geographical locations around the world in search of the identity of a SPECIFIC item, building, person, etc. of significance to the location. For example, if the clue were to lead you to Pamplona, Spain – the FINAL solution to the clue may be “The Running of the Bulls”.

In other words, there will be TWO responses required for the correct solution of each clue: the GEOGRAPHICAL location, AND a significant person, place or thing associated with that particular geographical location.

Each clue is designed to give you enough information to determine BOTH correct responses – HOWEVER – I’ve made every effort to make this hunt a TOUGH one!

Eligibility

AW8 is open to ALL regular members of TQ.

Prizes and Scoring

The contest WINNER will be determined by a random drawing from the names of the hunters who have correctly solved a clue (or clues) during the course of the hunt – so the more clues that an individual solves – the better overall odds of winning! The winner’s name will be drawn by a TQ member (who will be determined at the conclusion of the hunt) who is NOT one of the hunt finalists.

A SECOND PLACE prize will be awarded to the person who has correctly solved the MOST clues during the hunt. In the event that the contest WINNER has also solved the most clues, the prize will be awarded to the person with the next highest number of correct responses. In the event of a tie – a “sudden death” clue will be posted for the persons involved in the tie; with the prize being awarded to the first person who correctly solves the tie-breaking clue.

A CONSOLATION PRIZE will be awarded (all hunters are eligible) – to the hunter for which his or her TQ peers feel most deserving. A poll will be initiated at the conclusion of the hunt, and all TQ members may vote for the hunter of their choice. Naturally, the person with the highest number of votes will win the consolation prize.

PRIZES

FIRST PRIZE will be a Fisher F2 metal detector.

SECOND PRIZE will be a Garrett Deluxe gold panning kit.

The CONSOLATION PRIZE will be a multi-tool - ideal for keeping in your hunting kit.

When Does This Thing Start?

THE HUNT OFFICIALLY KICKS-OFF WITH THE FIRST CLUE TOMORROW, MARCH 10TH. THE CLUE WILL BE POSTED AT 3:00 P.M. (MOUNTAIN DAYLIGHT TIME). This translates to 2:00 PDT - 4:00 CDT - 5:00 EDT - 6:00 Bermuda Time and early evening in England.

SOOOOOOO....get plenty of rest tonight, make up your SPAM sandwiches ahead of time, fire up the wienie dogs (or whatever else y'all are depending on for assistance) and get ready to have your brains fried!

SEE YA ON THE HUNT!!!
