The Mistake: Roberts misstook a Britsh man-of-war ship, "The Swallow" as a Portuguese trader and went to fight her. And they lost the Royal Fortune's sail half way thru the battle becuse they wraped Roberts boby in it becuse it was Roberts wish to be burried at sea..
Whats at the bottom of the Pacific: The Royal Fortune's Sail..

They mistook Challoner Ogle's ship The Swallow for a merchant ship and weren't prepared for what followed.
Bartholomew Roberts ended up at the bottom of the sea as I suspect his ship Royal Fortune did.

Capn', I don't mean to be doubtin' ye', but are you sure you don't mean Bartholomew Sharp? I can't find any info about Bart Roberts raiding in the Pacific Ocean, only the Atlantic.

San Rosario is a ship that was raided by Sharp and crew in the Pacific. On board (along with regular booty) was a book containing lists of all the trade routes, ports, etc. of the Spanish, which was about to be tossed overboard into the sea by a crewman of The Rosario, but Sharp and crew were able to stop him. The book would later be used in England as leverage in order to secure a full pardon for Sharp.
