Construction for the Clipper Bark Wildfire began in 1852 at the Simon McKay shipyard at the mouth of the Powow River in Amesbury, Massachusetts. On March 31, 1853 the Amesbury Villager reported, “We learn that the new and beautiful clipper ship built at the yard of Mr. McKay, at Amesbury Ferry

Warren was built at the Boston Navy Yard between 1825 and 1827 and was commissioned at her builders on 14 January 1827, Master Commandant Lawrence Kearny in command.
