Tony - for those of us who are not familiar.......can you tell us a little about this model or let us know where we can view a link that gives us all the specifications? It would be helpful. Thanks JoAnne

I don't have the specs in hand but I do know that there has been improvements to the tone ID , balance and weight with a lighter coil , the color is now black , the menus have been simplified. The price will be the same as the EXII. If the improvements are what i think they are , ten this detector will be a hard one to beat even for beginers .

It should overall be easier to learn from the EXII. Easy or hard to learn is in the eye of the beholder. Some think the DFX is hard to "learn" or has a large "learning curve". I however subscribe to the fact that there is no such thing as a "learning curve". What you have to do is "understand" what the controls are telling you as well as what the detector is telling you. What you learn is taken from the information you receive. You can't learn something if you don't understand it first.
Anyway , Until I actually have one in my hand I can only go by wht info I have and it tells me this will be an easier operating Explorer with killer depth and performance. If anyone wants one soon , it would be best to reserve one as soon as you can. they will be scarce at first.
