Wow, that's awesome to find it in change! I've got one too, an 1883 no cents. My grandma had it. Bad people used to plate them in gold and spend the for five dollars, so the government added cents to the reverse. You're lucky! :D

If you have loose change like that lying around, can I come over and go through it?

Default recent change?

Hey marine, was that in your most recent loose change? If so I'd retrace my steps of the places I visited and received change, May be more Vs in those tills. I once received change in a fast food joint (Brighton Hotdog Shoppe to you Boobie) . The lady after me droped a penny from her change on the floor in front of me. It landed wheat side up. It made me look in my change. Discovered I had three wheaties in my change. Took a quarter up and asked for 25 pennies. They grudgingly gave me them. I received 9 more wheaties in my change. Total haul, 12 wheaties, 2 chilly and cheddar dogs and a coke. Good outing!

Great find AJ!

I had one of those lucky pocket change days close to twenty years ago. Clerk at the corner store gave me my change and I glanced at it just before my hand closed. And I saw... 2 INDIAN HEAD cents, plus a couple early wheats (1920's)! Pretended I needed change for the Coke machine. Got back a Standing Liberty quarter, Mercury dime, and 2 silver Roosevelts, and usual clads. Went back a third time for a candy bar... silver war nickel, another Mercury dime, and a Buffalo nickel in that batch.

That was it. I asked her if there were any more "neat old coins." She looked and said that was all she saw. Took her word for it. I hope some little kid didn't break out his coin collection for comic books!

Hope you find lots of other great stuff in pocket change!

Wyatt- we have what they call michigans. - Hot dogs with a type of meat sauce. Bury some onions and add the meat sauce and you can not ask for a better piece of heaven. Hummmmm - now I know what I am having for lunch. It is just a hot dog (or michigan) type of day. JoAnne
