Default OK......Grade this Barber Half Dollar

Opinions solicited. I have my own idea...but what do you think?

This is an example of a coin that nearly doubles in value from EF-45 (150.00) to AU-50 (290.00)

In my opinion it looks like a VF-20 $85.00

Here are 2 pictures of a 1912 that ANACS graded at VF-20....The leaves and the hairline below the headband are beginning to merge with their adjacent areas.

On the reverse, the loss of detail in the wingtips and the tailfeathers is obvious on the VF-20 coin.

I'm certain that it grades higher than that.

Your gonna love my opinion !!

AU-50 /53 This coin does not exhibit enough wear to drop to a EF but there is enough to keep it from the slider grades.

Hi Metalman.....

That's what I see when I look at this one. I got it in a trade.

I bought a banjo for 275.00.....sold one part (the back) for 100.00, sold the hardware that attaches the back for $275.00.....and just traded the rest of the banjo for this coin and a check for 60 dollars.

Hi Wyatt, i would say very low grade and you should sell it to me for 2 bucks , just kidding . it looks very good . My banjo player has definetly heard of you , has some info on you , he thought maybe you did a frailing type of banjo neck ? ,i have no idea the difference , i do know the difference in the style of playing ( earl sgruggs - granpa jones ) Did you find it in the ground?

I build both kinds of banjo necks....necks for frailers and bluegrass banjo necks.

This coin was ferreted out on ebay today. The purchase was consummated and the coin will be drop shipped to me. I also nabbed a lot of 5 Morgans for 103 bucks last week.....that were all nice EF coins (one AU)....but one was an 1886-s in EF-40..and that one has a fair market vaue of 89.00 by itself. I'll probably trade that one off as well. There are deals to be made if you're diligent.

PM me a mailing address Dave.....I don't do Paypal, so I'll need to send you the dough for the music. Looking forward to it.

Thanks........Wyatt
