Utah Ghost Town Sites

Ghost Town: Alta in Little Cottonwood Canyon, 18 miles E of Sandy. Today a ski resort, the site was a silver boomtown founded in 1869. The wild, rip-roaring place boasted of 8,000 residents and had 26 saloons, 300 buildings and 6 breweries.
The mines ran out and by 1895 the town was a ghost. A few of the mines were re-opened again in 1904 and worked until 1936.

2A). Site: The area of Alta was a popular Indian hunting ground prior to the 1850’s. Relics and artifacts can be recovered in the region.

Started to get dark on me and the wind picked up once or twice and freaked me out!!!

Nothing like a cemetery, in the mountains, at dark to get your heart racing
